Consultation: Speed Cushions on Stretton Road/London Road

We have recently issued the following letter to residents living around Memorial Green/London Road and also along Stretton Road:

Dear Resident,

Consultation: Speed Cushions on Stretton Road/London Road

As many of you are aware there have been many incidents of vehicles travelling too fast through the village, we know this from complaints received and what we see ourselves. This has been confirmed by speed checks carried out by the police over the years.

As advised in the latest edition of the Gazette, we have been working in conjunction with Leicestershire County Council for some time to find solutions to the problem of speeding traffic in the village.

There have been many meetings with their Highway Engineers and our County Councillor and part of the plan they propose to alleviate speed is speed cushions along London Road and Stretton Road.

Please find attached Leicestershire County Council's plans showing the location of the proposed speed cushions. These comprise:

1) Up to three speed cushions in the vicinity of Memorial Green on London Road

2) Up to five speed cushions on Stretton Road between the mini roundabout and Devana Way.

This letter is part of a 21-day public consultation period for residents who live on the roads affected.

Please let us know your views by emailing us at: admin@greatglen-pc.gov.uk or writing to us at the address below. The consultation ends on Friday 23 April 2021.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours faithfully,

L A Sanderson

Clerk to the Parish Council

The maps showing the proposed speed cushions are shown in the attached document
