Get Flood Warnings Service

Information from the Environment Agency, via Carol Thay, Climate Impact Officer, Harborough District Council

We're pleased to let you know that the new "Get Flood Warnings"  service on GOV.UK will officially launch on 21st October 2025. This will replace the current "Sign Up for Flood Warnings" service.

This updated service is part of our wider improvements to the national flood warning system, designed to provide more reliable and timely alerts to help you stay safe and informed during flood events.

What you need to know:

  • Once the new Get Flood Warning system is launched, you will be able to access it using the email address we have on record for your organisation. This is the same address to which this message was sent. Please do contact getfloodwarnings@environment-agency.gov.uk if you do not know what this email address is.
  • Flood Resilience teams will no longer manage user accounts, you are now responsible for logging in to update your contact details, locations of interest and any other account information.
  • We have published a range of resources regarding the new service available via our Engagement HQ page

This launch marks an important milestone in improving how we deliver flood warnings across England. We appreciate your continued support and engagement.

If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch with either your local Flood Resilience Team or via getfloodwarnings@environment-agency.gov.uk.
